The Southern Connecticut Conference, with the support of presenting sponsor j.roo’s of North Haven, is naming a female and male athlete of the month during the academic year. It is the fourth year that j.roo’s has sponsored the Athlete of Month award. Each recipient receives a certificate and $25 gift card to j.roo’s. j.roo’s is located at 243 State Street in North Haven.
SCC Athletes of the Month for April 2026
Claire Levis, lacrosse, Daniel Hand
A senior two-way midfielder, Claire Levis led the Tigers’ girls lacrosse team to an outstanding 9-1 record during the month of April. In those 10 games, Levis posted 45 goals, 20 assists and had 73 draw controls. A varsity contributor since her freshman year, Levis has career 185 goals, 83 assists and 273 draw controls.
Cooper Bacca, volleyball, Shelton
One of the team’s captains, Cooper led the Gaels’ boys volleyball team to an outstanding 10-0 match record during the month of April. He is averaging a team-best 4.7 digs per set and 111 receptions. He has played outstanding defense for the Gaels, who are the defending SCC league champions.
