Each recipient receives a certificate and $25 gift card to j.roo’s.   j.roo’s is located at 243 State Street in North Haven.

SCC Athletes of the Month for March 2026

Ivy Massicotte, Amity Regional, girls ice hockey

Ivy was a big reason the Blades girls ice hockey co-op reached the CHSGHA state semifinals for the first time.  She posted a 2-1 record with a 2.33 goals against average and .929 save percentage.  The fourth-seeded Blades recorded impressive victories against #13 Stamford (6-2) and #5 Wilton (7-1) to earn the semifinal berth against top-seed eventual state champion Darien.  In the game against the Blue Wave, Ivy was outstanding, recording 50 saves in the 4-0 loss.  The four goals allowed were the fewest by a goaltender against Darien in the state playoffs.

Jack Cunningham, Fairfield Prep boys swimming

After leading the Jesuits to the SCC championship in late February, Jack Cunningham led Fairfield Prep to the Class L state title and a runner-up finish at the State Opens.  At the Class L meet on March 7, Jack won the 50 and 100 yard freestyle races, and was member of the Jesuits’ victorious 200 and 400-yard freestyle relay teams.   On March 12 at the State Open, Jack helped the 200-yard freestyle relay team win the state title, while finishing second in the 50-and 100-yard freestyle races, along with the Jesuits’ 400-yard freestyle relay team which placed second.
