SCC’s November 2023 Athletes of Month, presented by j.roo’s of North Haven
The Southern Connecticut Conference, with the support of presenting sponsor j.roo’s of North Haven, is naming a female and male athlete of the month during the academic year. Each recipient receives a certificate and $25 gift card to j.roo’s.
JULIA BARTO, Swimming, Cheshire
Julia had a great month leading the Rams to a pair of second-place finishes at the SCC and Class L meets. At the SCC championship meet on November 1, she was named as the Meet’s Most Outstanding Performer as she finished won the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly, and swam on two first-place relays (200 and 400 yard freestyle relays). At the Class L meet on Nov. 8, she captured the 200 yard IM and 500 yard freestyle, before placing second in those events at the State Open on Nov. 19.
AIDAN DOLAN, Football, Daniel Hand
A senior running back, Aidan led the Tigers to four victories in the month of November on their way to the Class M state title (which Daniel Hand ultimately won on Dec. 9 – a 57-20 victory over Rockville). In four games during November, Aidan rushed for 670 yards and eight touchdowns as the Tigers went 4-0. In the Class M state quarterfinal victory over St. Joseph, he rushed for 258 yards and two touchdowns.
