SCC’s January 2024 Athletes of Month, presented by j.roo’s of North Haven
The Southern Connecticut Conference, with the support of presenting sponsor j.roo’s of North Haven, is naming a female and male athlete of the month during the academic year. Each recipient receives a certificate and $25 gift card to j.roo’s.
HANNAH ANDREJCZYK, Indoor Track, Shelton
A senior distance standout, Hannah captured the 1600 meter race at the SCC Developmental meet on January 2 (5:18.80) and then won the SCC East Sectional with a time of 5:08.02 on January 25. At the Yale Track Classic on Jan. 13, she finished fourth in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:12.14. She also won the 3200 meters at the SCC East Sectional race, finishing in 11:15.33. Hannah has committed to run at Georgetown.
TOM CONKLIN, Indoor Track, LYMAN HALL
A junior, Tom had a busy month on the track. On January 10, he was part of the Trojans’ 4 x 800 meter relay team that placed sixth at the Millrose Games and set a school record. A week later, he broke a school record in the 600 meters and placed second at the Yale Track Classic. On January 20, he won the 600 meters and was a member of the victorious 4 x 800 meter relay team at the SCC Coaches Invitational. On January 25, he won the 1000 meters and was a member of the 1600 Sprint Medley and 4 x 400 meter relay teams that emerged victorious at the SCC East Sectional meet.
