Third Times a Charm
- Both 2025 championship games are rematches for the third consecutive year.
- Notre Dame boys are attempting to win their fourth straight SCC title. It will set a SCC record. Wilbur Cross won three straight league titles from 1998 to 2000.
- Hamden girls are looking for their third straight title, which would tie itself (2019-2021) and Guilford (2001-2003) for the best streak in league history.
Most SCC titles
- Ten different girls teams have won SCC titles, led by Hillhouse (6), Hamden (5), Mercy (5) and Career and Guilford (each with 4)
- Ten different boys teams have won SCC titles, led by Wilbur Cross (8), Hillhouse (7), Xavier (4), Notre Dame and Career (each with 3).
Lowest Seeded Team to Win a SCC Title
Hamden is attempting to become the third #7 seed to win a SCC basketball title (the record for lowest seeded team to win). Hamden won the 2020 league title as a #7 seed, and Branford won the 2010 (the first title game at QU) as a #7 seed – defeating #10 Wilbur Cross, #2 Career, #3 Mercy and #1 Hillhouse.
Record in SCC finals
- Hamden girls are making their sixth SCC title game appearance, and third straight. The Green Dragons are 5-0 in championship games (winning in 2019, 2020, 2021-D1, 2023 and 2024).
- Sacred Heart Academy is making its seventh SCC title game appearance, and fifth straight. The Sharks are 3-3 in SCC title games (winning in 1996, 2021-D2 and 2022).
- Notre Dame is making its ninth SCC championship game appearance, and its eighth consecutive. The Green Knights have won the last three SCC titles (2022, 2023 and 2024) and hold a 3-5 record in championship games.
- Hillhouse is making its league-best 18th SCC title game appearance. The Academics have won seven league titles (1996, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2017).
