Hamden co-op Captures 2024 SCC Girls Ice Hockey Championship

Third-seeded Hamden co-op captured the 2024 SCC Girls Ice Hockey championship with a 3-1 victory over fourth-seeded West Haven/SHA co-op on Feb. 23. Giada Broccoli scored one goal and assisted on two others to lead the Green Dragons. Lexy Patel and Jozie Becker also scored goals for Hamden. Taylor Alfano scored the lone goal for West Haven/SHA.

Freshman goaltender Kyra Sweeney was outstanding in goal for Hamden with 29 saves, and was selected the Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player (she allowed just two goals in three playoff games).
