SCC’s September 2023 Athletes of Month, presented by j.roo’s of North Haven
The Southern Connecticut Conference, with the support of presenting sponsor j.roo’s of North Haven, is naming a female and male athlete of the month during the academic year. Each recipient receives a certificate and $25 gift card to j.roo’s.
JORDAN KELLS, Daniel Hand, Field Hockey
A senior forward and captain, Jordan Kells led the Tigers to a perfect 8-0 record during the month of September. She scored 10 goals in those seven games, including a hat trick against Lyman Hall. An honor roll student, Jordan is committed to Lehigh University.
ARMANI REID, West Haven, Football
A senior two-way starter (wide receiver/defensive back), Armani led the Blue Devils to a perfect 4-0 record. He averaged 82.0 receiving yards per game and had five touchdown receptions. He added two more scores and has made two interceptions. He had two touchdown receptions and recorded one interception as #2 West Haven held off #6 Shelton, 31-21.
