The Southern Connecticut Conference, one of the original members of the Connecticut High School Football Alliance, will receive 45 non-conference matchups for the 2026 season.

A total of 137 teams, including 132 representing all eight Connecticut high school football leagues and one independent (Amistad), along with three Rhode Island schools (Bishop Hendricken, North Kingstown and Westerly), one Massachusetts team (Shepherd Hill Regional) and one school from Pennsylvania (Scranton Prep) will participate in the Connecticut High School Football Alliance during the upcoming 2026 season.
All told, the Alliance scheduled a total of 122 games.
Representatives from each of the eight Connecticut football leagues recently participated in two scheduling meetings to develop and confirm the 2026 schedule. With all leagues participating, week #2 (Sept. 18-19) was designated as the “Alliance Week” with 66 matchups. Week #4 had the next most games with 29.
The 66 “week two” matchups were determined based on the teams’ final CIAC playoff finish during the 2025 regular-season with three groupings (Classes LL-L, MM-M and SS-S). Just one of the week 2 games is a “same league” matchup (Lyman Hall vs. Branford, SCC).
There are additional “Alliance” games in other weeks (1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11) due to the independent team (Amistad) needing games as well as openings caused by various league needs (membership imbalances or openings caused by pre-existing Thanksgiving week matchups) or a need to find more competitive match ups for teams that their individual leagues could not accommodate through their respective conference schedules.
