Ten SCC football teams earned spots in the 2022 CIAC State Football playoffs. SCC teams went 6-4 in the quarterfinals. Three teams (Fairfield Prep in Class LL, North Haven in Class MM and Notre Dame in Class M) reached their respective championship games on Dec. 4 at Rentschler Field.
Class LL Championship: Greenwich 37, Fairfield Prep 17
Class MM Championship: North Haven 51, Killingly 34 – first ever state title for the Nighthawks
Class M Championship: Notre Dame 35, Berlin 8 – first state title since 2009 for the Green Knights
