SCC’s April 2025 Athletes of Month, presented by j.roo’s of North Haven
The Southern Connecticut Conference, with the support of presenting sponsor j.roo’s of North Haven, is naming a female and male athlete of the month during the academic year. It is the third year that j.roo’s has sponsored the Athlete of Month award. Each recipient receives a certificate and $25 gift card to j.roo’s. j.roo’s is located at 243 State Street in North Haven.
SCC Athletes of the Month for April 2025
Abigail Corris, Foran, softball
Just a sophomore, Abigail led the Lions to a perfect 10-0 record from her pitching position. She allowed just six earned runs (0.75 ERA) and had 133 strikeouts. She pitched two no-hitters in a three-day span (April 14 versus Guilford and April 16. On April 22, she pitched two-hit shutout with a season-high 17 strikeouts vs. East Haven.
Devin Kelly, Fairfield Prep, tennis
A junior, Devin plays number two singles for the Jesuits, who recorded a perfect 10-0 match record during the month of April. Devin recorded straight victories over opponents from Daniel Hand, Cheshire and Amity Regional during the month.
