SCC’s December 2023 Athletes of Month, presented by j.roo’s of North Haven
The Southern Connecticut Conference, with the support of presenting sponsor j.roo’s of North Haven, is naming a female and male athlete of the month during the academic year. Each recipient receives a certificate and $25 gift card to j.roo’s.
FAITH DOYLE, Basketball, Foran
A junior guard, Faith Doyle led the Lions to a 5-1 record in the month of December. She averaged 22.0 points per game, while contributing 6.2 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.3 assists per contest. Faith has connected on a team-high 30 three-pointers. In a narrow 58-55 loss to Mercy on December 15, Faith scored a season-high 25 points, including four three-point field goals.
MIKE MADERA, Ice Hockey, West Haven
A senior forward, Mike led the Blue Devils to a 4-3 record during the month of December. He scored 15 points (11 goals, 4 assists) in those seven games, including two hat tricks (versus Daniel Hand on December 23; and St. Dominic’s of Maine on December 28).
