The SCC Captains Council programs are held three times a year, bringing together the captains of the 22 member schools before their respective seasons start to, more importantly, provide guidance of what it means to be a captain and the responsibility that comes with the position.
Speakers have ranged from current collegiate coaches, former SCC students-athletes who have gone on to collegiate playing and coaching careers, sports orthopaedic doctors speaking about injury prevention and health issues, and experts in using social media.
Following the guest speaker portion of the program, the captains will then break up into their respective sports where they discuss pertinent sport topics (rule changes, sportsmanship issues) and other leadership issues where they can share best practices and tips to bring back to their respective teams and school communities.
