24th Annual SCC Scholar Leader Banquet Held

The SCC recognized 46 "scholar leaders" at its annual Scholar Leader recognition banquet, held on March 26 at Anthony's Ocean View in New Haven.  Each SCC member school has two scholar leaders, selected by its principal, and represent the best of the best - excellence in the classroom and in their school and local communities.

Bill O'Brien Community Service Scholarship Winners: Congratulations to Lily Sendroff (Hamden) and Manasseh Bekele (Hillhouse), who each received $500 scholarship in honor of Bill O'Brien, the former SCC commissioner and community leader. Manassah’s personal leadership growth became evident when he was a key member of an organization called Co - Creating Effective and Inclusive Organizations. Lily’s leadership with a group called FRESH WATER FOCUS let to a development effort that raised more than $6,000 to purchase water filters for two villages in India.
