The SCC Captains Council programs are held three times a year, bringing together the captains of the 22 member schools before their respective seasons start to, more importantly, provide guidance of what it means to be a captain and the responsibility that comes with the position.
More than 400 captains attended the Winter Sports Captains Council on Wednesday, December 4 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center. Special thanks to Dr. Patrick Ruwe of SCC corporate sponsor Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, who spoke the group about injury prevention and health issues.
In addition, two student-athletes from Quinnipiac University - women's ice hockey captain Amanda Colin and baseball player Dale Long - who spoke about the preparation needed to be a collegiate athlete. Also, special thanks to long-time Quinnipiac baseball coach Dan Gooley who also provided some inspirational messages to the winter captains.
