SCC Championship Saturday

Saturday, November 6 was a busy day in the Southern Connecticut Conference .  It was "Championship Saturday" as four fall sports held their respective championship games.

FIELD HOCKEY - Hand 3, Guilford 0   @Kavanaugh Field - Guilford HS

The first-ever SCC field hockey championship pitted top-seeded Hand versus #3 Guilford.   The Tigers took a 1-0 halftime lead and added two second-half goals to earn the title.

GIRLS SOCCER - Shelton 1, Hamden 0  @Crisafi Field - East Haven HS

Both teams were in their first-ever championship game appearance, but second-seeded Shelton used a second-half goal to earn the title.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL - Shelton 3, Jonathan Law 1 (24-26, 25-22, 25-16, 25-18)  @North Haven HS

Fourth-seeded Jonathan Law was attempting to repeat as SCC champions and took the first game, but third-seeded Shelton stormed back to win 3-1 to earn its first-ever SCC title.

BOYS SOCCER - Hand 2, Guilford 1 (OT)  @Crisafi Field - East Haven HS

Top-seeded Hand used a late goal to force overtime and prevailed in overtime against seventh-seeded and defending champion Guilford.   It was the Tigers' first SCC title.
