Turn back the clock to Wednesday, Sept. 14, 1994 - the first day of official competition in the new mega-conference, the Southern Connecticut Conference.

On that day, former New Haven Register sports writer and current sportswriter for The Atlantic, book author and in-studio analyst for CBS' men's college basketball coverage, Seth Davis, wrote a comprehensive article called "A decade in the planning, the SCC makes its debut today."

Thanks for the New Haven Register allowing the SCC to reprint the story.
