Kelly Award, which is awarded annually to Connecticut’s top high school football team.  Click here to read the release from the Walter Camp Foundation

It is the third time that Daniel Hand has earned the Kelly Award (1997 and 2004).   It is also the fourth consecutive year a team from the Southern Connecticut Conference has won the honor (Notre Dame of West Haven, 2009, Xavier, 2010 and 2011).

Three SCC Football Teams Win State Titles!

Three SCC football teams – Xavier (Class LL), Daniel Hand (Class L) and Hillhouse (Class M) – won their respective CIAC state championship games played at Rentschler Field in East Hartford on December 7-8.   The three state titles ties the record for the league (2005 - the SCC won three when there was six divisions).  In addition, it is the fourth straight year the SCC has won at least two state football titles.  Congratulations!

SCC and FCIAC Football Scheduling Agreement for 2013-14

In an unprecedented agreement involving two of the top high school conferences in the state of Connecticut, the Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) and the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) will play 24 football games in each of the next two seasons (2013 and 2014).

With the 2013 and 2014 seasons each having an extra week (i.e, an 11th game) on the schedule, the SCC and FCIAC will have 17 head-to-head contests in the first week in both years (competing teams will alternate home and away).   The home teams will be decided in the very near future.

The leagues will utilize four days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) to play the games to allow for maximum interest and attendance.  More information about sites, dates, tickets and promotions will be available soon.
